Rome Metro

The metro opens every day from 5:30 am to 11:30 pm. On Friday and Saturday, the metro runs until 1:30 am.

Types of transport tickets

One-way ticket (BIT)

The BIT ticket lasts 75 minutes since its first validation and allows for unlimited transfers between the metro, buses, trams and urban trains. The only transfer that is not allowed is to leave the metro and return (by the metro turnstiles), even if it’s in the 75 minutes of validity. The ticket costs 1,50 €.

Day pass (BIG)

The BIG ticket allows unlimited public transportation from the moment the ticket is validated until midnight of the same day. The BIG day travel card costs 6€.

3 Day Tourist Pass (BTI)

The three-day tourist pass (BTI) gives visitors unlimited use of the public transportation from the moment it is first validated and for the following two days. The BTI has a price of 16,50 €.  

Week pass (CIS)

Identical to the BTI card, but valid for seven days instead of three. This travel card costs 24 €.

Пьяцца Пополо и окресности, как дойти куда (copy/paste с форума)

От Пьяцца Пополо идет Виа Корсо в сторону Испанской лестницы, фонтана Треви, упирается она в Монумент Виктора Иммануила у здания, прозванного в народе "Пищущей машинкой", который и сам по себе музей, и еще и смотровая площадка наверху великолепная. Оттуда рукой подать до Колизея с Форумом и Палатином(мимо Имперских форумов),а левее холм Квиринал с президентским дворцом.Если свернуть мимо "Пишущей машинки" направо, вас ноги вынесут к "Устам правды" в церкви Санта Мария де Космедин, а там Тибр, остров Тиберина, синагога и прочие красоты. Если же от площади Пополо вы пойдете через Тибр по мосту Регины Маргариты, то немного пройдя(мимо желатерий, кафешек и магазинчиков) уткнетесь в территорию Ватикана. Если от Пополо двинуть по виа ди Рипетта, то дойдете до моста Кавур, а там уже видны Дворец правосудия, Сан Анжело, и до Сан Пьетро уже довольно близко. А на нашем, пополовском берегу Тибра Пьяцца Навона и Пантеон. Я когда первый раз смотрела на карту Рима, думала что придется ездить на метро, но пройти его пешком совсем не сложно, главное правильно выбрать место дислокации:)

Rome Tips: Public Toilets

About public toilets, there are seven public toilets in the municipality of Rome. The usage fee is 1 Euro. The facilities are located near the Colosseum, the Pincio, Castel Sant’Angelo, Piazza Risorgimento, Via di Ripetta, Piazza Garibaldi and the Basilica of San Paolo. We also recommend train stations' toilets (1 euro) or bars' restrooms (if you buy an espresso, you can ask the owner to use their restrooms)
